Robyn’s Cedar Planked Parmesan Kale Pizza

Cedar planked dishes are on the rise, and for good reason! The added smokiness and convenience planks offer make them a great option to spice up your grilling repertoire. This recipe combines the farm fresh taste of summer with authentic flavor of wood-fired pizza.

Directions

-Soak your wood planks for an hour before using. They need to be soaked so they don’t catch fire while grilling.

-Set your grill to 400 degrees

-Roll the pizza balls into long rectangles trying to get them as thin as possible, matching the size of the 5”X11” plank.

-Drizzle the plank with a bit of olive oil and spread it around, then add cornmeal – this is done so your pizza is less likely to stick.

-Place the dough onto the plank. Try to get your dough as thin as possible.

-Place the cedar planks and dough into the grill for about 7-10 minutes so the dough has a chance to bake before adding toppings.

-Add the toppings and let them continue to cook for another 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the crust is golden brown.

-Remove from the grill and slice into pieces – you can use the cedar planks as a serving tray for presentation if you like after they have cooled. Sprinkle some salt, serve, and enjoy!
